Annual Roomie Reunion!

Every March (during Spring Break) my college roomies and I get together and catch up! We didn't really set out to make it a tradition--it just turned out that way! Last year, Jen and I headed to Houston to visit Em. And this year, Em came to us!

Jen and I still live in Dallas, but shortly after we graduated from College, Em made the trek to Houston! And I think we've lost her forever!!



I miss having her so close. I mean come on, I lived with her for 3 years of my life! What do you expect? And just recently, we discovered our roots go back a lot farther than we could have ever imagined. Turns out, her maternal grandparents lived in the same small, east Texas town as my maternal grandparents, and are buried next to one another! (Kind of sad/creepy, I know--but seriously, it is such a small world!)

So back to our mini-reunion...This year, we decided to do an afternoon of pampering, so we treated ourselves to manis and pedis and then headed to Cyclone Anayas for drinks. It was so nice to sit back and have your feet and hands (and necks) massaged while we caught up on life! We love re-living those special memories we've shared over the years and enjoy looking forward to making new ones.

My New Obsession!

OK, so I finally gave in. I joined Twitter!

What is Twitter you ask? Well, according to Wikipedia and Twitter.com, Twitter is an online community that allows friends, family, and co-workers communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? It's kind of like a blog on steroids. Someone who is twittering, or tweeting, has to communicate their message in 140 characters or less -- and they say, "You should tweet as often as you eat." It's also much like a community of Facebook Status updates -- but for everyone to see.

I have to be honest. I didn't see the point of Twitter in the beginning, and never really thought I'd buy into the whole thing. Well, two days ago I created an account and have been obsessed ever since.

Guess Your Number Game

Growing like a weed!

I haven't posted about our puppy in awhile and thought it was time for an update! Our little rascal is growing so fast. He's already 14.5 weeks and is well over 35 lbs. We've experienced a lot of "firsts" lately--some of which you'll see in the pictures below. Here's a list of some of the stuff Cooper's accomplished/demolished recently:

• Went to his first (and second) vet visit
• Shredded three outdoor couch cushions
• Learned how to push his way through a cracked door
• Can (in one jump) leap onto the couch and reach the decorative pillows (or lick your face)
• LOVES to run off with the remote (and almost can't focus on anything else if it's anywhere around)
• Will bark back at us if we tell him "No"
• Sits perfectly still in Granddad's truck, but runs all over my lap when he's in my car
• Had his first case of an upset stomach! See The Stoy's Story on Poop-A-Palooza for a similar experience.
• Ate his food too fast and threw it all up (Sorry for those who have weak stomachs. It was the most bizarre thing I've ever witnessed!)
• Survived his first long weekend without Mama!
• Knows when we ask him, "Where's Mama?" or "Where's Daddy?" (He'll go looking for us)
• Loves to run off with Kelly's running shoes
• Doesn't like to go outside if he doesn't need to go "Potty." (He'll just sit down on the ground and look at us.)
• He will run you over if he does have to go "Potty" and you're not opening the door fast enough
• Tries to help us do whatever it is we're doing...laundry, dishes, getting out his dog food. He LOVES to be right under foot!
• Knows how to melt your heart!

There's a First Time For Everything...

...and today it's my first time to blog from my iPhone! (And best of all I'm sitting on the couch!)

This afternoon Kel and I are spending the day with my brother and parents at their house. We brought Cooper over to romp around in the backyard while we eat a delicious home cooked meal!

Coop loves to go to his grandparents house! My dad has "Cooper Proofed" the backyard that has ropes, toys, and a blanket back there for him to play with. (But he really spends most of the time in the flower bed :))

Happy Anniversary, Babe!

Today marks our two year anniversary!! It’s so hard to believe that two years ago today Kelly and I were walking down the aisle to make a life long commitment to one another before God, our family, and friends. On one hand it seems like just yesterday that my Mom and I were putting the final touches on all the plans and we could hardly believe the day was already here. And on the other hand, there’s been so much that has happened that it seems like it’s been longer than two years! Either way, I’m so thankful to be married to my best friend and am looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us this year!



We’re planning to take a mini-trip in three weeks to celebrate (once Kel finishes teaching his training class) but until then we’ll do a little celebrating this weekend!!
