This year is the year.
You know the one.
The one I've been dreading my whole life. (At least that's what I thought when I was growing up!)
This year I turn the big 3-0. And if that wasn't daunting enough...
It's only 100 days away!
In all seriousness--I'm kind of excited about it! I've heard that your thirties are the best years of your life because you've found great friends, have settled into your own security, planted roots, and feel confident in the decisions you're making as an adult. Don't get me wrong, I still have my fair share of insecurities and second guesses, but I'm excited about what my thirties have in store for me!
As I embark on a new decade in life, I thought it would be fun to tackle something unexpected so I plan to
participate in the "101 in 1001" Challenge. I took the description below from Shannon over at Life in General:
The Challenge: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days (roughly 2.75 years)
The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (i.e. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?: Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks.
I don't really know why I think this will work for me because I can't even stick to my New Years Resolutions, but I thought I'd give it a whirl. I don't have my list complete yet, but will have it all together by my birthday. So I guess I know what I'll be working on for the next 100 days :)
What do you think? Do you think you could come up with 101 tasks to complete in 1001 days? Feel free to join me if you'd like! Let me know if you decide to participate. I'd love to see your lists and follow along as you complete each task.
Oh, and one small request: If you're reading this little blog please leave a comment and let me know you're out there. I'd love to know if I still have any readers!
