Over the past several weeks our girls summer bible study has been discussing the book of Philippians and Paul’s amazing passion for Christ. Although Philippians is a small book in size, it has such a powerful message! It has been such a great experience walking through the word with friends and digging deeper into what’s inside our hearts.
Last night our discussion seemed to be a mix of a little of everything, but the part that really touched me was when Lesa, Jill’s boyfriend’s mom and our “informal” leader, began discussing the Seasons of Life (stemming from Phil. 2:22 – Paul and Timothy’s relationship.) In our Seasons of Life there are times when we wrestle with the Word, and times when we’re content with where we’re at and seem to be coasting along. Times when we just can’t seem to get it figured out, and times when we feel it all fall into place. But in any Season of Life we have something to share with someone else. Maybe it’s telling an example of what we’ve experienced in our own lives, or just offering a listening ear. And that is exactly what we’re doing – sharing in this Season of Life together. My hope is that in any situation, I will be able to learn something from someone else – or be able to contribute to their life in some way.
On a side note, here are a few other key Bible Verses from last night:
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more; I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish that I may gain Christ” - Philippians 3:7-8

Thank you for this. Brent and I just rededicated ourselves to actually "studying" scripture rather than just reading it and it is amazing how much insight and learning we have been gaining in our current readings. When I get overwhelmed with all I should be doing I try to remember that my season in life (right now) is motherhood and I should embrace it and there will come a day when I will enter another season with more lessons to learn and more insights to gain and different trials to face. I think you are so great and I love you!
I love Phillipians! Seasons of Life is such a great way to explain the stages of growth and maturity whether mentally, physically, or spiritually we go through in our lifetime. I love Paul's letters written so long ago yet so relevant to today! What an awesome and loving God we serve. Thanks for sharing Nat!
